Mockshop helps drive efficiency and growth at Takko.

German fashion discounter uses visual merchandising software to optimize and communicate layouts of more than 1200 stores

Takko, Germany’s second largest fashion discounter with shops throughout Europe, has improved efficiency and achieved significant growth rates with Visual Retailing’s Mockshop merchandising solutions. With over 1,200 branches, Takko uses Mockshop to quickly and easily merchandise its stores and communicate product presentation instructions to its shop staff. In the eighteen months since Takko began using the visual merchandising software, the company has achieved significant cost and time savings in the merchandising and communications process.

Visual Retailing’s Mockshop comprises powerful yet easy to use merchandising tools that enable store planners to produce planograms of store layouts the way shoppers see them. The resulting diagrams are easy for store staff to follow and saves them time changing product presentations. The solution also includes an integrated photo studio that streamlines the process of capturing, managing and archiving photos of merchandise samples.

Takko focuses on providing cost-conscious families with high-quality yet competitively-priced clothing in a wide range of sizes. With frequent changes in layout and display details, Takko’s store planning and shop staff needed to dedicate a lot of time to ensuring all the stores were merchandised efficiently. “Until early 2007 we had been using a graphics program for the visual merchandising. But we had no way of evaluating whether shop staff could follow our instructions, nor whether a certain layout was working well for us,” says Rudolf Scheben, Marketing Director of Takko Holding GmbH.

“Mockshop has changed this and makes planning, communicating and merchandising far quicker and easier for our 1200 stores across Europe.“

As a result, Takko is planning to extend the use of Visual Retailing’s Mockshop solution into other corporate departments.
